The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience. -- Eleanor Roosevelt

Apples vs. Pumpkins
So, our closest pumpkin patch is near Cedar City, an 1 1/2 hours drive. Our pum'kin pick'n consists of going to the cardboard box at the local Food Town and if we are lucky, choosing a good pumpkin! Which we did do this year!
But we do have an apple orchard down the canyon. The Bradshaw Orchards have a couple different varieties of apples that are grown chemical free. We went one Saturday afternoon and invited Grandpa and Grandma Smith along. We had a nice time picking our own apples and watching Hafen enjoy the day as well.
There were several horses behind a fence, however they could easily get out and eat at their will. Hafen didn't enjoy this part of the trip though, and the closer they got to him, the less he enjoyed their advances! We also saw several ducks and a large barn owl that hooted and flew around the area. The camera ran out of battery before the day was over, but the drive was beautiful and so was the day.
